Spiritual Week of Prayer – Day 3: Serving the Community in Bwaise, Led by Guild President Ogwang Simon

The Spiritual Week of Prayer, which began on Monday, is now in its third day, and Bugema University Students’ Association (BUSA), under the leadership of Guild President Ogwang Simon, is taking this opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. Today, the focus was on community service through a clean-up in Bwaise, where students are putting faith into action by giving back to those around them.

With Ogwang Simon leading the charge, BUSA students gathered early, ready to roll up their sleeves and start cleaning. Armed with brooms, trash bags, and a commitment to serve, they are determined to bring a new sense of cleanliness and pride to Bwaise. “Starting Spiritual Week with service reminds us all that our faith extends beyond words; it’s about meaningful actions that benefit everyone,” Ogwang said as he rallied the group.

The clean-up has brought not only students but also local residents together, creating a shared sense of purpose. Bwaise residents expressed gratitude, with some even joining in to help. This collaboration fosters a deep bond between Bugema University and the Bwaise community, reminding everyone of the impact we can have when we work together.

The Spiritual Week of Prayer is about personal growth, reflection, and service to others. This community clean-up is a perfect embodiment of those values, showing that faith is best expressed through actions. Guild President Ogwang Simon’s leadership has inspired the students to step beyond campus boundaries, bringing their values into the community in a way that benefits everyone.

We’re grateful for the chance to make a difference and invite everyone to join us, whether in spirit or by participating in future events. As the Spiritual Week of Prayer continues, we look forward to further opportunities to reflect, grow, and serve.
